The 5 Most Popular Office Signs. Number 3 is a MUST!

It’s sometimes intimidating trying to find the ideal office signs for your business given the amount of options from which to choose.  You first have to pick the right sign frames and then you have to decide what type of inserts to use.  I thought I would take some of the more frequently ordered signs and briefly describe why I believe most people tend to gravitate towards them.  I’ll also take a few minutes afterwards to talk about Vista System office signage in general, including the features common across the entire product line which may help further explain why customers like these particular sign frames.

  1. WFFP2U    – Dimensions 3″H x 5.25″W.
  2. WFFP16U  – Dimensions 6″H x 6″W
  3. WFFP17U  – Dimensions 6″H x 6″W with a 2″ ADA header
  4. WFP1U      – Dimensions 2″H x 4″W
  5. WFP84U    – Dimensions 11″H x 8.5″W

The WFFP2U is the smallest and most economical of the flat product line.  The WFFP16U sign frame is one of the more popular office signs because it’s ideally sized for insert content with an attractive price point.  The WFFP17U is identical to the 16U but is a two-part sign frame with a two-inch ADA header.  The flat portrait office signs in general have become increasingly popular for the above reasons.

The WFP1U is the most cost effective of the office door signs.  Unlike the other three listed so far, the WFP1U is from the curved product line.  Since the curved line is LEED certified I believe this may be another contributing factor to the curved line popularity.  Finally, the WFP84U sign frames accommodate 8.5 x 11 letter-size inserts which make it an ideal solution for people who like to do-it-yourself.

Overall I believe people choose office signs from Vista System because they are competitively priced, aesthetically pleasing and most importantly, are extremely easy to maintain.  There are others too but maintaining your office door signs, for example, can be very costly downstream due to promotions, attrition, etc. By using paper inserts you can print new office door signs in minutes for a fraction of the cost of having to call your local sign company.

Expand Your Horizons with Sign Frames from Vista System

Vista System recently launched a new line of sign frames creating the best solution in the market for projects requiring extra large signage.  It’s called the Vista Expand series and consists of environmentally friendly indoor and outdoor sign frames ranging in size from 700-1400mm (27.5-55″) wide and up to 4 meters (13′) high.  The ultra modern design has a minimal curve and supports XL pylon signs (above right), landscape and portrait XL wall signs (above left) and landscape and portrait XL post and panel signs.

The portrait XL wall signs as illustrated above are a superior solution for displaying information including, but not limited to, floor maps, logo and branding imagery, floor directories, advertising space and exit routes.  Its landscape counterpart, XL landscape wall signs, are used to display wayfinding information and branding images, company name and logo, floor lists, decorative photos, advertising space and much more.

The Vista System Expand Series of sign frames, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, are also easy to install and update.  Installation of the Vista Expand wall signs is done by simply attaching the main profile to the wall with the screws smartly hidden under the insert sheet.  The sign frames accept digital prints, vinyl and other materials to present updated information.  The replacement process if fast and easy and can be completed on-site with in-house staff.

Vista System double-sided pylon signs are extremely popular and well known for wayfinding.  Often projects call for extra large pylons making the Vista line the most attractive solution available.  Applications are varied from displaying directions outdoors to wayfinding, branding, information, images, instructions and advertising within the complex.

The XL portrait and landscape post & panel signs are often used to display information to the public including orientation maps in the mall, real estate project specification stands, terminal information posts, industrial zone directories and much more.  Because of the modular design, many variations of both types of post & panel signs are possible.

Vista Expand proves that just because they are bigger they are still flexible, easy to deliver and install as well as maintain.  We have a number of images and videos that go into much more detail than what’s included here.  Contact us and we’ll be glad to send them to you.  We hope this information was helpful as we try to keep you up to date with the latest on architectural signage throughout the industry.  Please like, share or subscribe to our blog or visit our website for other signage products.

Sign Frame Installation – Tape and Velcro

Sign frame installation using tape or Velcro is fast and easy with these step-by-step instructions.

This short video shows how easy it is to prep and mount your sign frame with double-sided, very high bond (VHB) tape however, you’d follow the same process in mounting your sign frames with either double-sided foam tape (mild adhesive) or Velcro (hook and loop).  In addition, this process would be used across the entire line of Vista System products including directory signs, door signs, office signs and poster frames.

Here’ are the step-by-step instructions:

1. Apply the tape or Velcro to the back of the sign frame
2. Remove the vinyl backing from the tape or Velcro strip
3. Level and mount your sign

Please make sure to test your surface prior to installation.  The tape is ideal for installing your sign frames on smooth surfaces and is intended to be permanent.  The VHB tape has more aggressive adhesive than its foam counterpart yet both are sufficient to install both office and directory signs.  Also, please consult your local building codes for mounting height specifications prior to installation.

Small office signs, cubicle signs or sign frames that might move frequently are better suited for Velcro.  All sign frames can be ordered with the tape or Velcro already cut and applied to the frame to expedite the installation process. However, if you’d prefer to do it yourself, especially if you’re installing a large number of office signs at once, you can purchase the tape or Velcro at your local hardware store, office superstore or online to save some money.

We hope you enjoyed the video.  If you would like additional product information or alternatives to tape or Velcro sign frame installation please visit our video channel.  We welcome your comments so please share or subscribe to our blog.

Restroom Signs Made Simple – See for Yourself

Restroom signs from Vista System can be customized quickly and easily.  The most common is the WFP34U.  This particular sign frame comes in either brushed silver or black with the same two metal finishes or in high-impact grey or black plastic.  The sign frame measures 8″h x 6″w with a 2″ ADA header/footer.  The WFP34U along with the rest of the Vista office signs support a wide variety of insert materials including paper, acrylic, PVC, vinyl, photopolymer, metal, ADA and more.

For the door signs, office signs and conference rooms one of the more popular choices is the WFL12U sign frame.    Also in brushed silver with grey plastic end caps, most clients typically opt for paper inserts for the office signs and door signs yet the WFL12U also accommodates all the materials listed above.  The WFL12U sign frame, for reference, has a vertical curvature and is 3″h x 10″w.

Vista System products are premium, anodized aluminum sign frames and come in two elegant finishes; brushed silver and black.  End caps are available in grey and black plastic as well as the two anodized aluminum metal finishes.  Most sign frames are available with both plastic and metal options while some have one or the other.

Vista System is the preferred choice of sign professionals world-wide.  The curved line is LEED certified for projects requiring sustainable sign solutions.  Vista also provides custom sizes without the incremental cost factor typically applied to non-standard products as all frames are built to order.

Sign Frame Installation – Wall Anchors & Screws

Sign frame installation for Vista System products is fast and easy and just one of the reasons why sign professionals around the world choose them.  This video clip illustrates how to install one of our 8.5 x 11 letter-size office signs using wall anchors and screws but the same method holds for directory signs, door signs and poster frames.  Take a look.

As you can see, installing your sign frames can be done in a matter of minutes and only requires a level and an electric drill.  Here’s a quick recap of the process:

Step 1: Level Your Sign Frame
Step 2: Mark Your Holes
Step 3: Set the Wall Anchors and Screws
Step 4: Add the Paper Insert and Acrylic Lens

Keep in mind that installing your sign frames with wall anchors and screws is meant to be permanent.  So, if you intend to move your office signs or directory signs frequently, or at all, other mounting options should be considered.  Also, consult your local building codes and regulations for mounting height requirements before installing your sign frames.

Because of the various surfaces in which you can mount your sign frame, the frames are not shipped with the mounting hardware.  Common wall anchors and screws can be purchased at your local hardware store based on your specific mounting needs.

One other point to note.  The WFP84U office sign used in this video illustrates the use of a paper insert with a clear acrylic lens.  By far, paper inserts are the preferred choice from a maintenance perspective from a cost and turnaround standpoint since you can do it yourself.  However, Vista System office signs support a variety of materials in addition to paper including acrylic, ADA, vinyl, photopolymer and many others.

  3. Add a Photo – Some companies allow co-workers the ability to customize their individual office signs and many elect to add their personal photos.  Most consider this office sign enhancement the offline version of their avatar.
  4. Flat or Curved Office Signs – 3 No-Fuss Ways to Figure it Out

Office SignsWhat are the primary drivers when choosing between flat and curved office signs?  Although there are many factors to consider when choosing which type of office signage to select, here are three that tend to surface to the top.

First, do you have a uniform sign program in place?  If so, stay with the existing office sign format for consistency.  Looking at mix-and-match office signs does not contribute to an aesthetically pleasing environment.  So if you have curved, stay with it.

Then there’s price.  If you don’t have office signs that you need to match then save the money.  Both the curved and flat office signage are durable, vandal-resistant and easy to maintain so find the size of the office sign you want and go with the least expensive one.

Another factor to consider when purchasing office signs is mounting.  All office sign frames can be mounted to glass with double-sided tape so there’s really no decision here.  Mounting office signs to a wall can be done with the same double-sided tape or with wall anchors and screws however, acrylic or masonite-backed sign frames may not always effectively support the latter.  Floating sign frames must be mounted with wall anchors and screws so choosing floating office sign frames for solid wood doors would not be pragmatic. Pay close attention to your mounting surfaces and the options available for mounting before purchasing your office signage.
